Azle utility customers will see a slight increase on their November bills — the first rate change, in fact, since 2017.

As of Oct. 15, the city’s water usage rate has now increased from $3.02 to $3.10 per 100 cubic feet for in-city residential customers using up to 1,500 cubic feet. The city’s sewer usage rate has also increased from $2.52 to $2.58 per 100 cubic feet. There will be no change in the base rate for water and sewer.

According to Assistant City Manager Amber Beard, this is the first time the water usage rate has increased in almost 10 years. She said this decision was necessary as it will help maintain the city’s water and sewer system while funding future maintenance and improvements to meet Azle’s growing needs.
