1977 graduate Terry Wolf accepts his Hall of Fame award from Azle ISD Athletic Director Michael Sain.

A 1977 Azle High School graduate, Terry Wolf was inducted into the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2020. Wolf competed in football, basketball, baseball and track during his Hornet career before embarking on a remarkable 36-year coaching career.

Wolf has accumulated a record of 670 wins and 134 losses, earning 29 district titles, 10 trips to the state tournament, and 29 District Coach of the Year awards. In 2004, he was named “The Coach that Makes a Difference” by ESPN.

“It's nice to be recognized by your hometown people, it always warms your heart,” Wolf said. “My high school coaches had a huge impact on my life and coaching career. They told me my sophomore year that I was either going to play pro ball or coach.”
