Parker County considers formation of water Public Utility Agency
Water availability may be one of the most pressing issues in Parker County. A water symposium, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21 at the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Clubhouse, 2251 Mineral Wells Highway in Weatherford, is open to those interested in the topic and/or in helping with planning for the future water needs in the county.

Parker County is currently working on a long-term solution to address water needs in the county — a move that could result in the formation of a Public Utility Agency.

Andrew Franko, a leading expert in water master planning for engineering firm Freese and Nichols, presented a water resources study update to the Parker County Commissioners Court Oct. 27.

During the update, he told the court the main goal with this study is to come up with a plan that’s going to provide water for Parker County for years to come.
