Azle High School’s construction and manufacturing students showed they truly have “metal” for a potential career path in engineering and manufacturing during Steel Day at Basden Steel in Burleson Oct. 23.

Steel Day is an annual tradition at Basden Steel, where workers spend a day with students from various school districts and provide hands-on activities in diverse trades.

While Steel Day has been a common practice for the steel fabricator company, this is the first year AHS has participated, according to crane instructor Matthew Holly.
