Azle utility poles get fiberglass upgrade from Oncor — Contractors for Oncor Electric work to replace an electrical pole near QuikTrip Tuesday, Oct. 14. According to Jon Tom of Five Star Electric, crews are upgrading the poles by replacing wooden crossarms with fiberglass ones, which offer greater durability and a longer lifespan. Since May, approximately 450 older electrical poles in Azle have been replaced and there’s still about 500 more for Oncor to update.
