The Azle Marching Green Pride battled the elements and a field of 28 elite bands Saturday, placing seventh at the UIL 5A Area F marching contest at the Birdville Fine Arts and Athletic Complex.
Despite rain and a lightning delay, the Hornets delivered a powerful preliminary performance of their 2025 show, “The Fire Within,” earning a spot in the 10-band finals. A huge crowd watched as the Marching Green Pride held strong in a highly competitive field with only the top five advancing to the state marching championships. Aledo, Burleson Centennial, Midlothian, Richland, and Colleyville Heritage bands all advanced to the State Marching Contest to be held at the Alamodome in San Antonio Nov.10
