Growing up in the Big Horn River Valley in Hardin, Montana, Andrew Kloster knew from a young age he wanted to serve his country — just like his dad.

“We have a lot of military in our family,” Kloster said. “My dad was in the Navy and was a deep-sea diver. Before they called guys Navy Seals, he was a UDT which is Underwater Demolition Team.”

Kloster’s father served in the Korean War, where he was shot and lost a lung — leading to his medical retirement from the Navy.
