After receiving several shots and a multitude of bandages, a clinic full of young patients left with big smiles and not a single tear — though that might have something to do with the fact the patients were all teddy bears.

On Tuesday, Nov. 4, the Azle Memorial Library hosted a Teddy Bear Clinic for children ages 3-7 to try to ease the fear and anxiety we all know too well from doctor visits when we were younger — and, let’s face it, as adults, too.

As a child who spent a lot of time at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Children Services Librarian Ava Bryant said she came up with the idea for the event to help kids feel more comfortable in a medical setting.
