For the 45th consecutive year, member of the Optimist Club of Azle staged an epic banquet for friends and family of two outstanding students from each campus in the Azle Independent School District to honor their accomplishments and celebrate their future as leaders.

Past-president Edwin Newton emceed the event, which kicked off with the invocation, the posting of the flag and Pledge of Allegiance. A delicious meal was prepared, served and donated by Spring Creek Bar-B-Que in Lake Worth, something the restaurant has done for years.

Azle ISD Athletic Director Michael Sain was the keynote speaker for the night and delivered inspiring remarks, encouraging students to be bold and embrace failure as a bridge to success.
