The 2025 football season came to an end Friday, Nov. 7, as the Azle Hornets fell to the Richland Royals 59–14 at Hornet Field. The loss marked the final time Azle’s seniors donned the green and white. While several may continue their careers at the next level, the unique experience of representing Azle High School under Friday night lights has come to a close.
The end of football season also signals transitions for the programs tied closely to it, including Cheer, Hornet Muscle, the Emerald Dazzlers, the Marching Green Pride and the athletic trainers. Though all will continue competing and performing throughout the school year, Friday nights now move to the rearview mirror.
Azle started the night with purpose. The Hornets marched 75 yards on the opening drive, capped by a 4-yard touchdown run from sophomore running back King Stephens. Colton Cook added the extra point for a 7–0 lead.
