Pelican Bay city officials are mourning the loss of one of their own after learning of the unexpected passing of City Marshal Jason “JD” Debord earlier this week.
According to a social media post from the City of Pelican Bay Monday, Nov. 10, Debord was a “bright light to all who came in contact with him.” He served his country in the United States Army and leaves behind a loving wife, two daughters and his beloved Frenchies, Gus and Noki. Debord also previously served as a police officer for the city of Azle.
During the Pelican Bay City Council meeting Nov. 12, Mayor Pro Tem David Dryden opened the meeting with a prayer for Debord’s family and those who are mourning his loss.
