Texas High School Wrestling Rankings released Nov. 10 confirm what many around Azle already knew: the Hornets are once again poised for a championship-caliber season. Both the boys’ and girls’ programs will open the 2025 campaign ranked in the state’s top 10, with the Lady Hornets at No. 4 and the boys’ squad at No. 5.

Ranked ahead of the Lady Hornets are No. 1 ranked Comal Smithson Valley, No. 2 Melissa and No. 3 Frisco Centennial. Ranked behind the Lady Hornets are No. 5 Henrietta, No. 6 El Paso Bel Air, No. 7 Georgetown, No. 8 El Paso Bel Air, No. 9 Burleson and No. 10 Lubbock Coronado.

The boys wrestling teams ranked ahead of Azle include No. 1 Melissa, No. 2 Canyon Randall, No. 3 Comal Smithson Valley and No. 4 Cedar Park. No. Frisco Centennial, No. 7 Mission Sharyland, No. 8 Dallas Highland Park, No. 9 Dallas South Oak Cliff and No. 10 Carrollton Creekview round out the top 10.
