Azle High School spirit programs turned in an outstanding performance at the National Cheerleaders Association Regional Competition Nov. 16, bringing home multiple top awards and reinforcing their standing among the state’s best.
Azle Cheer won first place in the Junior Varsity Large School Game Day division and also earned a specialty award for vocal excellence. The Hornets topped strong programs from Aledo, Flower Mound Marcus and Arlington Heights.
Azle’s mascot “Buzzy” captured the regional championship in the mascot division and posted the highest score of the entire event, earning top honors across all categories.
