In accordance with the new Downtown Master Plan, Azle city officials are currently exploring ways to take back control of Main Street — especially now that Texas Department of Transportation regulations are limiting downtown development.

The Downtown Turnback Feasibility Analysis project is one of several initiatives stemming from the 2045 Comprehensive Master Plan, which was adopted by council in October 2024.
