Lady Hornets continue early-season push
Iliana Lopez drives hard to the basket and is fouled by Springtown.

The Azle Lady Hornets hit the road Monday, Nov. 24, traveling down State Highway 199 to face the Springtown Lady Porcupines. Despite a competitive first half fueled by timely three-pointers, Azle came up short in a 56-33 loss.

The Lady Hornets stayed within striking distance early, battling to keep the score tight before Springtown pulled away in the fourth quarter. Senior Keagan Stuart and sophomore Angel Sifuentes paced the offense with 11 points each, while Iliana Lopez added 6.

Azle returned to action the following night, hosting the Mansfield Tigers Tuesday, Nov. 25. Before the opening tip, freshman basketball player Addison Horner delivered a standout moment — performing “The Star-Spangled Banner” on her trumpet in front of the home crowd. Her performance earned special recognition and set the tone for the night as fans erupted in applause.
