Azle’s Billie Jean Rycroft never thought she’d hit 100, but after a lifetime of traveling more than most people grocery shop, she admitted the secret to her longevity is just what you'd expect: staying on the move — preferably fast enough to dodge a doctor.

“Most everybody asks, ‘What is your secret for living so long?’ Well, I don't know that I have a secret. You just have to keep going. Like traveling and getting up in the morning. If you don't feel too good, you just get going, put on your clothes and go to the store … You just got to keep moving — and you got to not take much medicine … Stay away from doctors. They'll make you sick,” Rycroft said, with a chuckle.

Rycroft lived by that same philosophy — dodging doctors and staying on the move — even if it meant saying no to prescriptions and yes to trips halfway across the world.
