Azle girls basketball took on a challenging stretch last week, beginning with a road matchup Tuesday, Dec. 2 at Burleson. The Lady Hornets battled but came up short, falling to the Elks 51–36.
The subvarsity squads found success, however, as the JV defeated Burleson 34–31 and the freshman team cruised to a 47–29 win.
On Thursday, Dec. 4, Azle opened play in the 45th Annual Northeast Richland Lions Club Holiday Basketball Tournament, a longstanding community tradition hosted at Thomas Coliseum. The tournament is known for bringing together talented programs, dedicated coaches, enthusiastic fans and strong local support.
