Azle High School girls wrestling turned in another impressive performance Friday, Dec. 5, finishing second overall at the Texanne Tussle Dual Tournament held at the Arlington ISD Athletic Complex . The Lady Hornets battled through six duals, falling only to powerhouse 6A Coppell in the championship round.
Five Lady Hornets went undefeated throughout the event: Noah Kovach, Elly Yelle, Zalyn Woods, Kenzie Harris and Brynlee Cates.
Azle opened the tournament with a dominant 69–12 win over Trinity. The Lady Hornets kept the momentum rolling with a 66–18 victory against Arlington Lamar, then followed with a 72–5 rout of Dallas Skyline before meeting Coppell in the final, where Azle fell 54–24.
