The Azle High School robotics team, led by coach Tyler Harrison, turned in a strong performance at the 2025 Advanced Vertical Robotics Championships held Dec. 5 at the Henry B. Tippie National Education Center in Dallas.
Azle’s Hornet Drone Squad finished third in its qualifying event before securing a ninth-place overall finish among 60 teams from across the country.
Standout contributors included drone pilot Noah Popp, drone operator Nathan Popp, DEXI pilot Jaden Petty, and rover driver Jace Finger. The team’s presentation group featured Shelby Ramirez, Ashlyn O’Neil, Jaden Petty, Alex Duran, Noah Popp, Jude Shew and Nate Davis.
