The Azle swim team traveled to the Arlington ISD Natatorium Nov. 4 and returned home with a slate of standout performances and personal bests. Head coach Amy Estes praised the effort, saying, “Yesterday was a great meet for the Hornets.”
The Lady Hornets opened the day with a win in the girls 200 medley relay. The team of Ava Dash, Haven Brown, Mavis Caldentey and Kayley Brekel touched first to claim the top spot. The same foursome later placed second in the 200 freestyle relay.
Brekel, a senior, added an individual victory in the 200 freestyle. Also setting personal records in the event were Lilly Wood, who placed eighth, and Lila Averitte, who finished ninth.
