The city of Azle will hand off its lawn care to a new company following the Dec. 2 Azle City Council approval of a $62,834.39 contract with BrightView for citywide mowing and landscaping services.
Sealed bids were recently solicited for the city’s annual requirement for mowing services and nine bids were received Nov. 6.
According to the city’s Purchasing Agent Jennifer Walls, the nine bids were evaluated by the Parks Department and Purchasing staff. Although Superior Landscape submitted the lowest bid at $62,754, Walls said the company does not possess the license required by the Texas Department of Agriculture. Therefore, staff chose to consider the next lowest bidder, BrightView, which Walls said meets all the required specifications.
