The Azle Fire Department is “coming in hot” with its fire protection service this year, with a recent announcement by Fire Chief Will Scott that its ISO rating is expected to improve pending final approval by the Texas Department of Insurance.
An ISO rating is a score assigned by the Insurance Services Office that measures a community’s fire protection on a scale of 1 to 10, with a lower score indicating better protection.
During the Azle City Council meeting Dec. 2, Scott said the department is on track to receive an ISO rating of 2 — an improvement from its current rating of 3 — within the next 30 to 45 days.
