The ISD Police Department hosted its first annual Coffee & Cocoa with Santa Dec. 16 from 5-8 p.m. in the Azle High School Commons Area. The event featured photos with Santa for a donation, along with a silent auction with items donated by local businesses. Guests were also treated to performances by the AHS jazz combo and choir. All proceeds from the event will benefit the AISD Police Scholarship Fund.
Rise Coffee sold coffee and hot chocolate, and Gutsy Bakes sold cookies, with a portion of their proceeds donated to the scholarship fund.
The AISD Police Department launched its scholarship fund during the 2024-25 school year. The idea was created by Officer Shayne Kotara, president of the foundation, to support students interested in pursuing careers in criminal justice. Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors at the end of each school year.
