Eighth-grader Daniel Cantu-Reyna proved he has plenty of Christmas spirit — and talent — when he was recently crowned the winner of Azle Independent School District’s 2025 Christmas card design contest.
Daniel, a student at Azle Junior High School, was recognized for his artwork during a regular meeting of the Azle ISD board of trustees Dec. 15.
His drawing — which will be featured on the district’s official holiday card — depicts a cozy holiday scene with a decorated Christmas tree sitting in front of a brick fireplace. Red Christmas stockings are hanging from a mantle, while drawings of festive lights, presents and cookies surround the scene. A cute penguin in a Santa hat also sits on top of a sign that reads, “Azle ISD: ‘Tis the season to be jolly.” Below the tree, the phrase, “And a Happy New Year,” completes the holiday design.
