The Azle Police Department is getting a brand-new Motorola dispatch console after the Azle City Council approved a purchase totaling $175,620 for the upgrade Dec. 15.

According to Ben Hall, police chief for the Azle Police Department, the new console is needed to support increasing operational demands, ensure adequate coverage during high-volume periods and enhance overall emergency response capabilities.

“When you talk about a dispatch console — we used to call them radio consoles — this is really so much more,” Hall said. “This is the latest and greatest in technology.”
