Azle Independent School District and Tarleton State University are receiving an A+ in partnership for the duo’s residency program, where TSU student teachers spend a full year at AISD gaining classroom experience alongside veteran educators.
During the AISD school board meeting Dec. 15, Assistant Superintendent Jessica Hanson gave a program update and explained why she’s “super passionate” about this partnership — calling it a “pipeline for teachers.”
“What makes the Tarleton residency unique for our partnership with their university? It’s a year-long residency, so it allows for a deeper mentorship and practical experience within our schools,” Hanson said.
