The new year may have just begun but local cities are already gearing up for another exciting election season this spring.

On Jan. 6, Azle City Council officially called for a general election to be held Saturday, May 2, for the purpose of electing council members to Places 1, 2 and 5 for a two-year term. Place 1 is currently held by Derrick Nelson, Place 2 by Amy Estes and Place 5 by Rouel Rothenberger Jr.
