Frequent customers of the Parkway Center will soon be enjoying a smoother ride upon their arrival, as the Azle City Council recently approved a grant that will fund necessary parking lot improvements.

According to Planning and Development Director David Hawkins, the city recently received a request from the property owner for a $10,000 reimbursement grant through the city’s Façade and Signage Improvement Program.

The FSIP program was created in 2016 as a free opportunity for business property owners or tenants in Azle to restore their exterior signage, awnings, lighting or commercial building façade. Business owners can apply for two different types of grants: General Project and Signage Project. The FSIP provides a 50% General Project matching grant of up to $10,000 for the funding of well-designed improvements. An additional 50% Signage Project matching grant up to $5,000 may be available for improvement of existing signage or construction of new city-approved signage.
