Azle city leaders and officials are now debating the best way to tackle one of Texas’ hottest topics in their own backyard: homelessness.
Late last year, the cities of Houston and McKinney made headlines after passing new ordinances restricting certain public actions to address the homeless population — a move the city of Azle is also now considering.
While the topic of homelessness has been rampant in these areas recently, Assistant City Manager Amber Beard told city council members Jan. 6 the issue isn’t strictly limited to big cities.
