While outgoing Azle Area Chamber of Commerce President David Shaffer may miss giving his hilarious luncheon commentary — and constantly ribbing Executive Director Jennifer Parnell for not stirring the door prize tickets enough — he knows he’ll be leaving the chamber in extremely capable hands.

After serving as a two-time board member and two-time president, Shaffer recently stepped down from his role as chamber president. However, before he officially passed the gavel, he was invited to give the traditional year in review by incoming President Chris Wynn during the Jan. 6 luncheon.

“Each January, one of our favorite traditions at the Azle Area Chamber of Commerce is the year in review — a chance to pause, reflect and celebrate what the past year has meant for our chamber and our community,” Wynn said. “The person guiding us through that reflection today has spent many years investing in both … While he has received several chamber awards over the years, he would be quick to say the greatest reward has been working alongside people who care deeply about Azle, and he plans to remain active as a chamber ambassador.”
