Hoorah! Silver at state!
Azle High School Cheer and Hornet Muscle are the 2026 UIL state silver medalists.

Azle Cheer and Hornet Muscle delivered a standout performance Thursday, Jan. 15, capturing a second-place finish at the 2026 UIL Spirit State Championships at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

The Hornets’ runner-up showing marked Azle’s first medal at the UIL state level in six years, finishing just 0.44 points behind state champion Burleson.

As is tradition, Azle’s state qualifiers received a community sendoff the morning of the competition before taking the mat later that evening. The Hornets made the most of the moment, earning first place in both Best Band Chant and Best Crowd Leading during the championships.
