The Azle High School boys and girls wrestling teams delivered standout performances Saturday at the Texas High School Wrestling Coaches Association State Dual Championships at Kay Yeager Coliseum in Wichita Falls.
The Azle boys entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed while returning to defend their 2025 state title. The Lady Hornets arrived as the top seed, looking to make a statement on the state’s biggest dual-meet stage.
The Azle girls battled powerhouse Melissa in the championship dual before falling 40-33, securing a runner-up finish — the highest placement in program history.
