Wilson Rigg has been selected as Azle High School’s next head football coach, Azle Independent School District announced Tuesday, Jan. 20 during a regular meeting of the board of trustees.
Rigg arrives in Azle after more than a decade in education and coaching, bringing experience from both Texas high school football and the collegiate ranks. He most recently served as assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at Anna High School, where he helped lead the Coyotes to the 2023 Class 4A Division I state championship.
Rigg’s coaching résumé also includes stops at Lubbock Coronado High School, Midland Lee High School and Augustana College, giving him experience across multiple classifications and competitive levels.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead the Hornets and serve this community,” Rigg said. “Azle has a proud tradition, and our focus will be developing young men the right way while competing for championships.”
