Church soup kitchen open Thursdays

Azle Christian Church welcomes everyone to its community soup kitchen every Thursday. The church is located at 117 Church St. in Azle.

Church members will serve soup from 5-7 p.m., or until the soup runs out. Come enjoy a free hot meal simply because you are loved.

Candidate speaking event due Jan. 29

Silver Creek Methodist Church will host a candidate speaking event Thursday, Jan. 29 from 6-7:30 p.m.

A donation-only spaghetti dinner will take place promptly at 6 p.m., followed by the candidates’ speeches from 7-7:30 p.m.

Each candidate will have three minutes to speak and will be grouped by the office they are running for. A short break will take place between each office group.

AEF hosts Red Solo Cup event Jan. 31

The Azle Education Foundation will host its 14th annual Red Solo Cup fundraiser Saturday, Jan. 31.

The event, set from 6-10 p.m. at the Orchard Event Venue at 1421 Northwest Parkway, will serve as a fundraiser for the AEF. Because of the Red Solo Cup event, AEF has been able to provide scholarships, teacher grants, campus grants and new teacher gift cards totaling more than $80,000.

Wear Red Day for heart health Feb. 4

The Azle Senior Activity Center welcomes everyone to join in for its Heart Wellness Talk Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 11:30 a.m.

Wear red to support heart health and enjoy an informative and engaging talk on heart wellness with Kimbery Hilmer, nurse practitioner, of Christian Care House Calls LLC.

Chamber awards banquet set Feb. 19

The Azle Area Chamber of Commerce will host its 64th annual awards banquet from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19.

Held at Wild Wonder, located at 3605 E. Highway 199 in Springtown, this annual event celebrates the best of the best in Azle’s business community.

Chamber member individual tickets are $50 each and nonmember individual tickets are $60 each. Guests can also purchase a chamber member sponsor table of eight for $375 or a nonmember sponsor table of eight for $450.

Attendees are asked to reserve their seat or table by purchasing no later than Feb. 5, 2026. Seating is limited and tickets will not be sold at the door.

Enjoy Ties and Tiaras Dance Feb. 21

Everyone is welcome to dance, celebrate and create memories at the Ties and Tiaras Family Dance at Azle High School. The dance is hosted by the Azle Marching Green Pride Band Boosters Saturday, Feb. 21 from 6-8 p.m.

The dance will feature a DJ, food, dancing, photo booths, treasure shop and a visit from Sally’s Sweets. Admission for $20 per couple comes with pizza and one drink per person.

Don’t wait to purchase your tickets on the Azle Marching Green Pride Facebook page. There will be an additional $5 charge for tickets purchased at the door.

Health, safety seminar arrives Feb. 21

Silver Creek Methodist Church will host a free health seminar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21.

During the health seminar, topics will include cardiovascular health, fall prevention, first aid, hands-only CPR, Stop the Bleed and advanced care planning.
