Azle hosts wrestling district meet Jan. 29
The Azle boys and girls wrestling teams will host the district 4-5A district tournament at the Hornet gym Thursday, Jan. 29. The Azle girls are ranked No. 1 in the state and the Azle boys are up to No. 3. The meet will start at 8 a.m.
Basketball faces Granbury Jan. 30
Azle Hornet and Lady Hornet basketball travel to Granbury to take on the Pirates Friday, Jan. 30. Tip off for the Lady Hornets is 6:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. for the Hornets.
Azle softball faces Eaton Jan. 30
The Lady Hornet softball team will travel to Eaton to play Friday, Jan. 30. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
Lady Hornet soccer faces Panthers Jan. 30
The Lady Hornet soccer team travels to take on the Fossil Ridge Lady Panthers at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30.
Azle tennis to play in Weatherford Jan. 30
Azle boys and girls tennis teams play in the Parker County Peach Bowl Friday, Jan. 30. The tennis squads will be at Weatherford High School with a start time of 8 a.m. in their first tournament of the spring season.
Azle Athletics hosts Meet the Hornets Feb. 2
Azle Athletics will host a community pep rally for the AHS spring sports participants. The event is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. in the Azle High School competition gym.
Azle soccer team take on Saginaw Feb. 3
Azle boys soccer will host Saginaw Tuesday, Feb. 3 at Hornet stadium, game time is 7:15 p.m. The Lady Hornets will travel to Saginaw for their 7:15 p.m. kick.
National Signing Day arrives Feb.4
Azle Athletics will host athletes from across all sports signing national letters of intent at the Hornet gym at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4.
Azle basketball back in action Feb. 6
Azle boys and girls basketball teams are back in action Friday, Feb.6 at home against the Brewer Bears. Game time for the girls is 6:15 p.m. and the boys will tip at 7:30 p.m.
Softball faces Paschal, Paradise Feb. 6
The Lady Hornet softball squad will play two games Friday, Feb. 6. First up is Paschal at 5 p.m.; first pitch against Paradise will be at 6:30 p.m. Both games are at Paschal.
Wrestling regionals arrive Feb. 6-7
Azle boys and girls wrestling teams and individuals will participate in the Region 1 wrestling tournament in Lubbock Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6-7. The Lubbock Civic Center will be the location and the meet starts at 9 a.m. both days.
