Members of the Azle City Council recently found themselves navigating a “landfill” of options, as they discussed whether to approve an increase to Community Waste Disposal’s garbage rates and recycling services.
While a combined increase of $3.34 for both residential rates and commercial handload services was approved by a 5-1 vote, some council members expressed hesitation about giving the green light due to recent complaints from residents about leaf and garbage services.
During a regular meeting Jan. 20, Assistant to the City Manager Susie Hiles explained to the council that CWD had recently requested an annual cost adjustment on garbage rates effective Feb. 1.
