Azle ISD trustees approved the hiring of Wilson Rigg to be head football coach and campus athletic coordinator at Azle High School during the board’s Jan. 20 meeting, turning the page to a new era for the Hornets football program.
Rigg arrives in Azle with experience at both the collegiate and high school levels and a reputation for building winning programs. Most recently, he served as assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Anna High School, where he helped lead the Coyotes to the 2023 Class 4A Division I state championship.
“I expect to play championship football wherever I am,” Rigg said. “That starts at the district level and carries over into everything we do.”
