The Azle Christian School Fighting Crusaders boys basketball season came to a close last week following a hard-fought district schedule, while the Lady Crusaders remain very much alive in the playoffs. The Ladies knocked off Christ Academy of Wichita Falls in a district tiebreaker Tuesday, Feb. 10 at Victory Christian Academy in Decatur.

In that game, the Lady Crusaders led most of the way — 20-19 at the half — keeping the pressure on and prevailing with a final score of 45-39. The ladies will travel to Longview for a playoff game this week.

Head girls coach Jaimey Rust said the season has been one of growth, with the team leaning heavily on a talented sophomore class. After early struggles in preseason play, the Lady Crusaders have gained momentum as district competition progressed.
