Community Waste Disposal is officially turning over a new leaf with Azle residents, as plans have now been put in place to efficiently tackle the next surge of leaves this fall — just in case another instance of “leafmageddon” rears its ugly head.

Last December, social media was ablaze with posts from residents who were frustrated with the length of time it took CWD to pick up their bagged leaves and bulk trash — especially since keeping yards clear of leaves is required under the city’s ordinance.

To address these concerns, President of CWD Jason Roemer took to the podium at the Azle City Council meeting Feb. 17, where he explained the difference in last year’s leaf volume and how CWD plans to rectify this problem going forward.
