After seven years of delays, 57 new homes are now close to “taking root” in Pelican Bay’s up-and-coming subdivision, Pine Cone Meadows.

On Feb. 10, Pelican Bay City Council members celebrated with cheers and a round of applause after the final plat for Pine Cone Meadows was unanimously approved — a project that has been in the works since 2019.

The proposed single-family residential development — which will stretch from 149 Richard Lane to 10945 Liberty School Road — was originally planned by Frank Laux, who had annexed eight acres to develop a subdivision called Friendly Acres.
