Glitter was sparkling and dresses were twirling during Azle’s annual Ties and Tiaras dance Feb. 21 — but this year, the lights were twinkling just a tad brighter in celebration of all the newcomers to the dance floor.
Hosted every year by the Azle Marching Green Pride Band Boosters, the magical event has traditionally been reserved for dads and daughters in the Azle area. However, the beloved tradition grew a little bigger this year by opening its doors to families across the community.
“A lot of parents are single parents or single mothers who had daughters who wanted to come,” MGP event coordinator Natalie Dornquast told The Azle News. “We wanted to be able to include everybody, and also to be able to include the little boys who wanted to come.”
