Victor Gonzalez first came to Azle in August 2022 after he was named the assistant director at Azle Memorial Library. Prior to coming to Azle, Gonzalez worked with the Fort Worth Public Library System for about seven years. At the Fort Worth Public Library system, he started as a page — a staff member or volunteer responsible for organizing and shelving books — and eventually worked his way up to library assistant at the downtown library in Fort Worth.
“The position to be an assistant library director came up here, and my mentor at the time, saw it and sent it my way, and he said, ‘this sounds like it will be right up your avenue. I think he would be really interested in this’. I took a look at the position, and I couldn't agree more, so I applied for it, and I always said that I was always gladly stolen from Fort Worth for Azle, and I'm glad to be a part of Azle,” Gonzalez said.
