The Rotary Club of Azle will be turning up the heat once again for its third annual steak cookoff beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 7, at Lakeside Plaza, 8401 Jacksboro Highway in Lakeside.
For the last few years, this community event has served as a hub for the Steak Cookoff Association, which hosts other cookoff events across the nation.
“The Steak Cookoff Association is actually located where we’re having the event,” Rotary member and event organizer Debra Jenkins said. “It’s sanctioned and they have their world championships the following week; that’s how we get international participants. In the past, we’ve had people from Australia, Austria and Germany. The Cheese Curd Mafia comes from Wisconsin also, which is kind of cool.”
