For the first time in 18 years, the state of Texas has unveiled a new state park — and it’s right in our backyard.
Palo Pinto Mountains State Park held a soft opening March 1, hosted by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The soft opening offered early access, but a larger grand opening celebration will take place later this spring.
Located just north of Interstate 20 near Strawn, the park is a mere hour-and-a-half drive from the Azle and Springtown areas, making it a perfect quick getaway opportunity.
