‘Full force,’ full heart

Pictured at the awards banquet are (l-r): Dispatch supervisor Tessa Erwin, dispatcher Jessica Lewis, dispatcher Heidi White, Officer Paul Booker, Officer Joe Nelson, Officer Eric Flores and Chief Ben Hall. Editor’s note: A story in the March 11 edition of The Azle News quoted Police Chief Ben Hall correctly when he told the Azle City Council “We even had an elderly couple who went for a drive, and we were able to track their movements through Flock cameras and eventually chased them to Arkansas.” However, we did not provide enough information to make it clear the elderly couple was missing and possibly in danger. Below, as Paul Harvey would say, is “the rest of the story.” The Azle News regrets the error.

Flock Safety cameras may be the subject of mass controversy around the United States, but in Azle, these license-plate readers are now being praised for their assistance in locating — and rescuing — an elderly couple.
