Roddy Murr is currently the vice president of Azle FFA Alumni & Supporters organization and the president of the Azle Cemetery Association.

Roddy Murr moved to Azle when he was 6 months old in 1946. Murr graduated from Azle High School in 1964, and from the University of Texas College Pharmacy in 1971. He opened Murr’s Main Street Drug in 1983 and served his customers until his retirement in 2007.

Murr has served multiple area organizations, including one term on the Azle City Council, the Azle Area Chamber of Commerce, the Athletic Hall of Fame Committee and the Azle ISD Career and Technical Advisory Council. He was a charter member and past president of the Azle Rotary Club.

He has been a member of the Azle FFA Alumni & Supporters organization for about 25 years, and he currently serves as vice president of the organization. He is also the president of the Azle Cemetery Association — a nonprofit organization for the cemetery, which is often referred to as Ash Creek Cemetery. He has volunteered at the Community Caring Center on Thursdays for the past few years.
