The Lady Hornets battled for the district 5-5A championship Friday, March 13, traveling to Aledo for a high-stakes matchup with the Bearcats.
Azle defeated Aledo earlier in district play at Hornet Stadium, but this time the Bearcats came away with the upper hand. Aledo secured the district title with a 2-0 victory over the Lady Hornets.
Despite the loss, the season continues for Azle. The Lady Hornets are officially qualified for the postseason for the first time in two years and will move on to the UIL playoffs.
