The Azle Baseball and Softball Association officially kicked off its season Sunday, March 22 with a special event that marked a new chapter for the organization and the community.
The ABSA hosted the inaugural Champions League Opening Day game at Stinger Field, where a packed crowd filled the stands despite 90-degree temperatures. The Champions League is the first organized league in Azle designed specifically for children and young adults with special needs.
Andrea Harman, a special education teacher at Azle High School and coach in the league, said 18 participants ranging from age 4 to young adults took part in the inaugural game.
