The Lady Hornets competed in the 2026 Texas High School Powerlifting Association State Meet Friday, March 20, with several lifters earning top finishes against the state’s best competition.
Senior Dakota Donaldson led the Lady Hornets with a strong performance, finishing tied for third place in her weight class. Paizlee Gray placed ninth, while Kasey Puente finished 11th.
Mavis Caldentey and Brooklyn Gibson each finished 13th in their respective weight classes, and Kenzie Arellano placed 15th. Bella Robles, Marialy Garcia and Emma Sustala also represented Azle and had strong performances at the state meet.
