The Lady Hornets varsity soccer team saw its postseason run come to an end Thursday night, falling to Argyle 4-0 in a UIL Class 5A Division II bidistrict playoff match.
Argyle struck early, finding the net just minutes into the contest. Azle goalkeeper Emma Nelson made a full-extension effort on the opening shot but narrowly missed the save as the ball slipped into the goal, giving the Lady Eagles a 1-0 advantage.
That early score held through halftime, with Azle staying within striking distance and looking to regroup during the break.
